Transnet Projects – Perway Works & Machinery
1. Ballast Tamping and Regulation:
- Deployment of ballast tamping machines to align and stabilise the track, ensuring optimal track geometry and long-term performance.
- Use of ballast regulators to evenly distribute and profile the ballast, providing adequate support for the tracks and maintaining proper drainage.
2. Formation and Embankment Rehabilitation:
- Formation rehabilitation to restore the trackbed and improve stability.
- Centralised Traffic Control (CTC)
3. Turnout Replacement:
- Implementation of a new interlocking system
- Embankment rehabilitation to strengthen and stabilise railway embankments.
4. Installation:
- Replacement of track turnouts to ensure smooth and reliable track switching operations.
5. Ballast Boxing, Lifting, and Tamping:
- Boxing of ballast to maintain the correct track profile.
- Lifting and tamping to adjust track elevation and ensure proper ballast compaction.
6. Welding and X-ray:
- Welding of rail joints for seamless track connections.
- X-ray inspection to ensure the integrity and safety of welded joints.
